A bunch of nerds playing Magic: The Gathering in my basement.

Overview

I was a Magic judge for a few years and met a lot of really cool people who loved the world and game of Magic, but just couldn't afford to keep playing at a high level.

To solve this, a friend and I pooled cards to make a "Cube," which is a custom curated draft set. Now, we can get a group together to play Magic at no ongoing cost!

Current Status

Partially disassembled, pending updates

Core Problems

• My friends weren't playing as much Magic as they wanted
• I had extra cards I wasn't using

Lessons Learned

• Designing an engaging draft environment is fun and challenging
• Trying to include everyone's favorite themes from decades of Magic is tricky

Current Objectives

• Update the cube with new cards from the last few years of Magic
