Rent Manager Express

Angular based rewrite of our flagship product - property management software.

Overview

Relies heavily on the Rent Manager 12 WebAPI. We started with 2 devs and an intern then spent some time building prototypes in Angular and React. We selected Angular, then got to work building the product and growing the team.

Current Status

Released to customers!

Core Problems

  • Our customers couldn’t access their data except via RDP
  • Our existing portals were built with ASP.Net MVC, and we knew we needed a more responsive-feeling application.

Lessons Learned

  • How to manage a huge team (22 members, currently)
  • How to manage a growing team - It's harder than starting big
  • How to manage a huge product
  • How important trust is to leadership (it goes both ways!)

Current Objectives

  • Continue improving leadership skills as the team continues to grow
  • Continuously improve processes, respond to customer needs, and move the product forward according to our own road map (I am sure this will be easy!)
